A differenza di altri strumenti di misura IV, il PETPlus può provare i polimeri virtualmente in tutte le fasi del processo: a partire dalla resina, dai granelli in polvere, dal polimero fuso, fino agli oggetti semilavorati, alle bottiglie in PET e perfino Il materiale rilavorato.
Le prove possono essere completate al di sotto dei 20 minuti. Prove veloci possono essere effettuate per mezzo dell'equipaggiamento ausiliario per l'accumulazione e la preparazione del campione di controllo.
Il sistema di controllo del microprocessore fornisce misurazioni di alta precisione, temp. di controllo a ±0.1°C e una memorizzazione fino a 600 risultati. Un display a cristalli liquidi visualizza le istruzioni multilingue sia per le prove sia per i risultati. Un'interfaccia RS232 permette il collegamento ad un PC per la gestione del software e lo scaricamento dei risultati completamente automatizzata.
Il PET fuso viene estruso attraverso un ugello calibrato, grazie all'azione del gas azoto sotto pressione ed il movimento contro tempo della sonda LVDT, registrato e visualizzato. Il sistema misura la portata ottimale e calcola la viscosità intrinseca. Il PETPlus inoltre misura il fattore di degradazione e fornisce lo scarto quadratico medio medio e per il gruppo.

The Davenport PETPlus is a unique test instrument designed for fast and safe solvent-free intrinsic viscosity (IV) measurement of moisture-sensitive polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The instrument can be operated in stand alone mode to provide on screen results or used with our powerful data analysis software package NEXYGENPlus PET. Existing solvent methods for determining IV involve the need to handle and dispose of toxic solvents. This preferred method is both kinder to the environment and saves on the high costs of purchase and disposal of solvents.
