Lloyd Instruments test machines can be used with a range of thermal cabinets and furnaces. The following models are available:

  • Heating cabinets (40°C to 300°C)
  • Heating and cooling thermal cabinets (-70°C to 300°C)
  • High temperature split furnaces (50°C to 950°C)

- Thermal Cabinets ____________________________________

  • High precision heating and combined heating and cooling thermal cabinets available in two models:
    • TC540 Heating Cabinets (40°C to 300°C)
    • TC550 Heating and Cooling Thermal Cabinet (-70°C to 300°C) used with liquid nitrogen for cooling
  • Glass observation panel in the front door allows the specimen to be inspected during test.
  • For use with all Lloyd Instruments twin column test machines.
  • Cabinets are mounted on wheels on an independent base unit. Normal ambient tests are possible, when cabinet is moved in rear position, clear of the test machine crosshead.

 

- High Temperature Furnaces ___________________________

  • High temperature split furnace with a temperature range from 50°C to 950°C.
  • Electrical heating elements linearise the temperature over the full length of the furnace.
  • For use with all Lloyd Instruments twin column test machines.

 

 

 

Thermal Cabinets _______________________________________________________________________________

 

Overview


Designed for testing samples under pre-defined temperature conditions, a range of heating and combined heating and cooling thermal cabinets is available for use with Lloyd Instruments twin column test machines.

 

TC540 Heating Thermal Cabinet

Our standard thermal cabinet, the TC540 is a high precision heating thermal cabinet, which allows tests to be performed from 40°C to 300°C.

 

TC550 Heating and Cooling Thermal Cabinet

The TC540 unit also has the option of connection to a liquid nitrogen supply (model TC550), which allows testing down to -70°C to 300°C.

The TC540 and TC550 cabinets are mounted on wheels, which run on a separate base unit for foward and backward movement. When the cabinet is in the rear position it is clear on the test machine crosshead and normal ambient tests are possible. A glass observation panel in the front door allows the specimen to be inspected during the test.

All thermal cabinets are supplied complete with loadcell rods and a base assembly to fit most Lloyd Instruments twin column machines and are controlled by a sophisticated temperature control unit, that is housed in a separate control console.

An optional dewar flask for storing liquid nitrogen is available for use with the TC550 cabinet.

High Temperature Furnaces _______________________________________________________________________________

 

Overview

 

For high temperature test applications, we offer the TCF950, a high temperature vertical split furnace with a temperature range from 50° to 950°C. The electrical heating elements are wound in three zones, which may be independently balanced to linearise the temperature over the full length of the furnance. The TCF950 is controlled by a sophisticated temperature control unit, that is housed in a separate control console.

The furnace can be used with all Lloyd Instruments twin column test machines.
